In 1557, the Portuguese were welcomed into Macao, making it one of the first European settlements in East Asia and it was also one of the last Asian nations to remain a European nation and returning as a sovereign Chinese nation only in 1999 after 450 years of Portuguese rule.

Today, Macao is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China, and like Hong Kong, benefits from the principle of “one country, two systems”, with the fusion of East meets West evident across everything from its architecture and cuisine to its culture and traditions.

The greatest of these continues to be Macao’s unique society, with communities from all over the world, complementing each other harmoniously, and there are many people who come to visit.

So with massive pent up demand for international travel post COVID-19 Macao is the perfect relatively undiscovered destination for you or your clients to learn about, before visiting, joining Macao Government Tourism Office’s, Brian Lo and TravMedia’s Nick Wayland on a virtual destination guide of Macao.

In part 1 of this 2 part series, discover what makes Macao so unique and how its vibrant mix of Portuguese and Chinese cultures have shaped the country’s identity into what it is today, with in this 1-hour webinar, Brian and Nick will explore the rich entertainment, history and culinary scenes of Macao while addressing key topics around the current state of travel, with topics including: –
