Leading luxury Southeast Asian boutique river cruise specialist Heritage Line is relaunching  its newly refurbished boutique vessel Heritage Line   JAYAVARMAN which sails a series of immersive itineraries on the riveting Lower Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Already iconic, Heritage Line JAYAVARMAN’s transformation blends timeless French-Colonial style with artisan Khmer accents for a spellbinding journey exploring the rhythms of riverside village life alongside some of Southeast Asia’s most remarkable landscapes across a range of seven, four and three night itineraries.

To celebrate the relaunch of Heritage Line JAYAVARMAN, guests booking a 7-night sailing departing between 16 December 2023 and 31 December 2024 can take advantage of a generous special offer – a USD300 per person discount for 2023 departures, or a USD200 per person discount for 2024 departures. This limited time offer is available for bookings made by 30 November 2023.

A key element of the ship’s refreshed look is the enhanced onboard culinary offering which includes a completely redesigned restaurant to incorporate an exciting open kitchen concept, whether during sumptuous breakfast and lunch buffets or during multi-course a la carte dinners. Dining is at the heart of Southeast Asian culture, and guests can now peek behind the curtain to watch the ship’s expert chefs in action and interact on cooking techniques as they whip up local delicacies, prepare freshly caught seafood and showcase the finest regional produce ready for guests to enjoy with new found friends.

The epicurean experience also includes daily afternoon tea in the open-air terrace bar, the ideal venue to watch the world float by, private balcony breakfasts to start the day, hands-on cooking classes to master the full-bodied flavours of Vietnamese and Khmer cuisine, and special event dining, such as Barbecue Gala Dinners on the deck with entertainment from exquisite Aspara dancers – an ideal opportunity to mingle with fellow guests and crew.

Of course, the culinary adventure doesn’t end on board. Guests on board all Lower Mekong itineraries can choose from fascinating shore excursions which include stimulating insights into distinctive local culinary traditions, whether visiting a family-owned mango farm to learn the art of making green mango salad or visiting a local market with the ship’s chef to sample and shop for dishes such as Banh Xeo, Banh Cuon and Nomkrok.

“Meandering the waterways of the Lower Mekong is a bucket list experience for many travellers, especially the growing number of people actively seeking more educational, exotic and authentic destinations – something Vietnam and Cambodia can definitely deliver,” said Heritage Line’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Andreas Schroetter. “This region is renowned for its flavoursome cuisine, food markets, street stalls and sellers, fisherman behind every river bend, exotic tropical fruits, and traditional local delicacies, so we’ve enhanced the culinary offering on board JAYAVARMAN to dial up the opportunities for guests who  are keen to engage with food wherever they travel.”

Laidback life on board

In addition to the revamped restaurant, Heritage Line JAYAVARMAN’s public spaces such as the timeless Club 1930 bar, the cosy library and the Henry Mouhot Lounge which transforms into an evening floating cinema have also been remodelled and upgraded with fresh furnishings.

All staterooms and suites on board have been meticulously upgraded with new furnishings and traditional artefacts so guests can relax in comfort whilst soaking up the authentic ambience of the region. Every cabin boasts panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows leading to balconies, whilst the exclusive Signature Suites – the most luxurious accommodation on board at the front of the ship’s Upper Deck – include generous living spaces, walk-in-wardrobes, and a dedicated butler service.
