Crystalbrook Collection, one of Australia’s leading sustainable hospitality companies, is now recruiting leadership roles at Kingsley, Newcastle’s first five-star hotel.

The independent hotel group embraces environmental change to enhance, not compromise, the quality of guest experiences, achieved via a host of Responsible Luxury sustainable initiatives. Forget plastic guest room key-cards and rooms filled with paper. Crystalbrook does hotels a different way; swapping plastics for recycled and upcycled materials, paper for technology such as in-room iPad compendiums and produce sourced from within a three-hour drive of each hotel.

The latest venture in the hotel group’s expansion along Australia’s east coast, the opening of Kingsley, a Crystalbrook Collection Hotel, in Q2 2021 will bring a new level of luxury to Australia’s seventh largest city and the gateway to the Hunter Valley.

Kingsley will transform Newcastle’s former Council Administration Centre into an elegant and sophisticated 130-room five-star hotel with a signature rooftop bar and restaurant, lobby bar and café, and two private meeting venues. With the City Hall Civic Theatre, Newcastle Art Gallery and War Memorial moments away, Kingsley is culturally connected, celebrating what has been and what is to come.

Crystalbrook is seeking driven leaders to introduce Kingsley to Newcastle, with senior roles across a number of sectors, including food and beverage, marketing, human resources and sales.

“At Crystalbrook, we see our team as Collaborators,” says Megan Knoetze, Group Director, People and Culture. “Who you are matters as much as what you can do. We are looking for Collaborators with a genuine passion to be great, truly outstanding professionals. We are passionate about our brand values and we want our leaders to be equally driven in reaching our goals.”

Recruiting for the following roles that would commence early 2021:

  • Engineering Manager
  • Director of Sales
  • People and Culture Business Partner
  • Executive Chef
  • Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Assistant Restaurant Manager
  • IT Manager
  • Front Office Manager
  • Executive Housekeeper

“Australia offers some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, and despite recent travel restrictions, we are committed to supporting local communities in Australia,” says Geoff York, CEO and Group Director, Hotels at Crystalbrook Collection. “We are seeking passionate leaders who will drive Kingsley’s success in a pivotal time for domestic tourism.”

Crystalbrook Collection’s portfolio includes Bailey, Riley and Flynn in Cairns; Byron at Byron in Byron Bay; Kingsley in Newcastle and Little Albion in Sydney.

The Group also owns and operates Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina in Port Douglas.

Committed to celebrating the local spirit of some of Australia’s best destinations, Crystalbrook has invested in excess of $1bn into the local tourism industry and has continued to do so throughout 2020.
