NOURISH YOUR DEFENCES (Attachment 1)

It is often said that prevention is the best medicine. For the last eight years, COMO Group Nutritionist Eve Persak has ensured that the group’s health-giving COMO Shambhala Cuisine has maintained a rigorous scientific focus on how to boost our immune systems.

Eve, who helped to curate the recipes for COMO’s inaugural cookbook, The Pleasures of Eating Well, which features recipes from the COMO Shambhala kitchen, shares her top tips on staying well with a thoughtful diet.

BREATHE THE STRESS AWAY (Attachment 2)

Feeling stressed can have a significant impact on the way people breathe. The breath becomes shallow and rapid, and concentrated in the upper part of the lungs only. Over a long period of time, such breathing patterns can have a seriously detrimental impact on physical and mental health. To counter this habit, the ancient Ayurvedic practice of Pranayama is one of the most powerful tools of self-care we have available to us, to help control the panic and calm the nerves in all of life situations.

COMO, which runs Pranayama sessions at several hotels and resorts around the world, including COMO Cocoa Island in the Maldives, COMO Uma Canggu in Bali and COMO Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos, explains three powerful Pranayama practices to counter anxiety.

SLEEP EASY (Attachment 3)

Sleep is one of the most powerful tools of self-care we have available to us. Getting the recommended eight hours a night has been shown to increase productivity and concentration, lead to better calorie regulation (and therefore less weight gain) and improve athletic performance. More importantly, sleep plays a critical role in our health, helping to lower inflammation, reduce our risk of heart disease and strengthen our immune systems.

COMO offers five simple tips to help get better sleep each night.
