Celebrity Cruises has announced what will sure to be a “game changer “ in cruising for Aussies and Kiwis, with its “Always Included” pricing including drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities, all contentious issues with Aussies and Kiwis, in all fares on all bookings on all Celebrity ships from 18 November this year, except for Galapagos voyages.

With the move seen to indicate what may well be the competitive nature of cruise pricing going forward to secure market share, Celebrity says it wants to put and an end the days of confusing promotions, complicated add-ons and limited time offers, with the move seen to be a gauntlet firmly thrown down to other cruise companies to follow suit to be competitive.  It is not known whether other Royal Caribbean Group companies will follow suit.

“Always Included” amazingly includes unlimited drinks, yes, I did say unlimited drinks, including classic cocktails, wines by the glass, beer, soft drink, specialty coffees, juices and bottled water, as well as free unlimited wi-fi for social media, email and web access, all of which without doubt will be considered to be very popular with Australian cruisers, along with service charges included, although these were already included in Celebrity fares booked in Australian and New Zealand.

As if that is not enough, there is an add- on an “Elevate” package which includes unlimited premium drinks and shore excursions worth up
to US$200 per person, or even higher up the ladder, an “Indulge” package with unlimited streaming Wi-Fi and up to US$400 per person in on-board credit, with guests that book the all-suite “The Retreat” section of a ship receiving the “Indulge” package at no additional charge.
