Comment on the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Dan Tehan’s visit to India to push for a enhanced bilateral trade and a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) – from American Express Global Business Travel’s Jo Sully, Vice President and Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific:
“The Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment’s visit to India comes at a welcome time. It is fantastic that both countries remain committed to enhancing their bilateral trading relationship through the securing of an India-Australia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) at the earliest opportunity.
“It is particularly welcome that further enhancement of post-Covid-19 opportunities for travel and tourism were part of the conversations in Delhi this week with a memorandum of understanding signed. This sends a signal that Indian business travellers are welcome in Australia. Whether it’s growing metropolises like the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru or the pharmaceutical hub of Hyderabad, we know the CECA will provide more opportunities for Australian businesses in India.
“With travel restrictions beginning to ease across the world, we want 2022 to be the year of a return to international travel that drives trade and economic growth.”
