Tailor-made travel company Audley Travel celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and continues to innovate its offering with the expansion of its European programme, with trips to Norway, Denmark and Sweden now available to book.Norway

Audley’s trips to Norway initially focus on Oslo, Bergen and the Norwegian fjords.

Highlights of the excursion programme available with Audley include a gastronomic tour of Bergen (which takes in Bryggen, the UNESCO protected old town of Bergen, while sampling seafood and other traditional cuisine). They will also enjoy kayaking in the fjords, exploring Sognefjord and Nærøyfjord (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) by open Zodiac boat and a Hardangerfjord cider & farm experience which sees clients walk through the orchards the region is famous for and visit a local Économusée farm to learn about cider production from the farm owners, whilst enjoying tastings.

Denmark

Audley’s offering in Denmark focuses around Copenhagen for launch, with day trips to Roskilde, north Zealand & southern Sweden.

Excursion highlights include a Smørrebrød cooking class (learning to make the traditional Danish open sandwich), a bike tour of Copenhagen, a kayak tour through Copenhagen’s canals and a day trip to Roskilde to learn about its history dating back to the Viking Age and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site cathedral.

Sweden

Audley’s trips to Sweden focus initially on Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Swedish Lapland.

Excursion highlights in Stockholm include sailing through the city’s archipelago or exploring by kayak. In Malmö clients can see the sights by boat or bike and in Gothenburg take a shrimp and salmon cruise through the archipelago. In Lapland Audley’s clients can enjoy excursions including a Sámi experience where they help feed the reindeer and learn about their importance in the Sámi culture. Other options include a sleigh ride, a snowmobile safari through snow-covered pine forests and a moose safari through the forest with a Sámi guide in a 4×4 vehicle.

Audley’s itineraries

Sample itineraries focus on individual countries as well as themed trips that span all three. As with all Audley’s itineraries these are simply inspiration for a client to design their ideal trip together with their country specialist.

As examples, a six day Introduction to Norway trip costs from £2,240 per person (based on two sharing). A nine day Active Scandinavia itinerary costs from £4,490 per person (based on two sharing).
