APT, the leader in luxury touring, has launched its new Tasmania 2022/23 program earlier than usual in response to high demand from travellers keen to experience the many delights of the Apple Isle.
Known for its food and wine, culture, breathtaking scenery and rich history, Tasmania has become a favourite travel destination for Australians. APT offers a variety of travel styles to suit everyone.
The popular 12-day Tasmania Complete takes guests on an in-depth exploration of the state with visits to Tasmanian icons Cradle Mountain, Freycinet National Park and Port Arthur, and the stunning natural wonders of the Gordon River and Tarkine wilderness.
The tour includes the finest local produce from regions across the state, highlighted by lunch at famous Tasmanian vineyard Josef Chromy in the heart of the stunning Tamar Valley and a sumptuous three-course dinner featuring an extensive selection of the local seasonal produce at the award-winning Tall Timbers Hotel. The tour also visits the exquisitely beautiful Bridestowe Lavender Farm near Launceston and historic Hobart, where guests have the choice to visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) among other experiences.
Earlybird prices for Tasmania Complete start at $5,995 per person twin share including a discount of up to $1,000 per couple when booked by 31 March 2022.
Additionally, APT offers a 10-day Heart of Tasmania tour which start in Hobart, then see Russell Falls before travelling to Strahan. Experience an unforgettable cruise on the Gordon River, take a guided walk through the Tarkine wilderness and visit the quaint seaside town of Stanley. Spend two wonderful nights in Launceston and the stunning Freycinet National Park. Drop by the historic town of Richmond en route to Hobart, then tour fascinating Port Arthur. Priced from $5,495 per person, twin share including a discount of up to $600 per couple when booked by 31 March 2022.
New for 2023 is the 8-day Tasmania’s Wilderness Coast cruise aboard APT-owned, 99-passenger expedition small ship, the MS Caledonian Sky. The cruise takes in Tasmania’s north and east coastlines, exploring beautiful King Island and all its gastronomic delights. Travel inland to iconic Cradle Mountain, journey along the spectacular Tamar Valley wine route, stopping for tastings at Pipers Brook Vineyard and Jansz Tasmania, witness the majestic beauty of Freycinet National Park, and see historic Port Arthur before your journey ends in Hobart. There are two departures in February 2023 which are priced from $8,895 per person, twin share including a discount of up to 15% when booked by 31 March 2022.
APT’s product manager for Australia and New Zealand, Maureen Styles, said extra departures have been added to meet increased demand.  “We have had a great 2021 season so far,” she said.
“Tasmania is a favourite destination and bookings this year have reflected that. Our customers simply love the state’s history, gorgeous wilderness, amazing scenery, and the fabulous food and wine.”
“Our Signature Experiences, like the special dining experience in Smithton which celebrates Tasmanian produce, the trip to Bridestowe Lavender Estate and the unforgettable Gordon River cruise from the luxury of the Captain’s Upper Deck aboard the Spirit of the Wild, remain as popular as ever.”
APT Tasmania tours include the services of an APT Tour Director and Driver and, on the Small Ship Expeditions, an APT Expedition Leader and Team.
APT is including its Domestic Peace of Mind Deposit Cover on all bookings. Guests can pay an upfront fee of $95 per person to postpone their holiday up to 100 days prior to departure. All monies paid can be used towards a new booking within three years of departure.
