DEAL’s Chair Michael Morley said: “We are incredibly excited to have Paul joining the DEAL team. Paul’s experience in leading significant transformation programs across private and public sectors and converting strategy into action will greatly assist DEAL as we continue to focus on building momentum and creating tangible results for the region. We look forward to introducing Paul to our stakeholders and the contributions he will make in this role.
“Paul’s appointment follows our current CEO Jordy Bowman’s announcement in July that she would be stepping down from the role at the completion of her three year contract. During Jordy’s seven years in the region and three years with DEAL, she has made an enormous contribution to East Arnhem. Jordy has been instrumental in driving the conscious shift in the way DEAL has worked over the last few years, with a focus on expanding DEAL’s efforts more regionally and working closely with traditional owners to understand and support their aspirations.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Jordy for her tremendous efforts during her tenure as CEO.”
Paul said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to bring together all my capabilities and experience in a way that is truly meaningful and will have a profound impact. I am thrilled to be able to join DEAL at this time, and am passionate about continuing the great work of Jordy and the team in partnership with the traditional owners, stakeholders and businesses of East Arnhem. My wife Kaljit and I are really excited about the move to Nhulunbuy and look forward to our first opportunities to camp out under the stars, reconnect with country and explore everything the region has to offer.”
Paul will commence in the role on 29 November.
The DEAL Board and Jordy will ensure a seamless transition with minimal impact to the important work we are doing across the region.
Paul will be reaching out once he settles into the role, however, if you would like to arrange to meet with Paul once he is in the region, please get in touch with us at the DEAL office at ea@developingeastarnhem.com.au.
