With all the highly prestigious airlines that boast that they have the best cabin crew in the world, you may or of course be surprised, or if you have flown this airline not, to discover that, no it was not QANTAS, nor Emirates the 2019 winner, nor Etihad, nor Singapore Airlines, nor Cathay Pacific or many more.

It is the incredible Royal Brunei Airlines cabin crew that have been named the “World’s Leading Cabin Crew 2020”, the best in the world in the prestigious World Travel Awards announced on 27th November.

The prestigious accolade was awarded to Royal Brunei from a field of 17 airlines competing for the title, including some of the world’s leading airlines, with the WTA established in 1993 and are regarded globally as the benchmark of industry excellence across all key sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality.

Royal Brunei Airlines, the national airline of Brunei Darussalam received the highest number of votes in a global poll of guests, travellers and travel professionals who had experienced the airline’s renowned inflight service, with not only being awarded the World’s Leading Cabin Crew 2020 bur also the WTA’s “Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew 2020” honour in the Asia Awards.

Mr Karam Chand, Royal Brunei Airlines’ Chief Executive Officer said the award of World’s Leading Cabin Crew as well as Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew shows what can be achieved with clear vision, genuine commitment and hard work, saying, “We are extremely proud of our cabin crew who are wonderful ambassadors for Brunei Darussalam and have set industry standards for the service they provide to millions of RB guests annually”.

“They and our other frontline staff have also helped us recently achieve other notable awards including Skytrax 4-Star rating and top 70 airline in the world.”

“It is well earned recognition for our team and also a reflection of our service strategy to establish RB as a well-respected, world class, global brand”.

“Being a boutique airline requires us to clearly differentiate ourselves from others and there is no better way to do that, than with the genuine Bruneian hospitality that comes from the heart combined with our service vision through the thought of the little things we do. It is the gentle essence of Bruneian culture and it cannot be duplicated.”

Mr Justin Warby, RB Royal Brunei Airlines’ Country Manager Australia said the airline was immensely proud of its people and product offering and delighted to see such global recognition, adding, “Royal Brunei’s outstanding inflight service combines the warmth, friendliness and the highest standards of Bruneian hospitality,” and “We have been serving the Australian market for 37 years and feedback over that time has consistently included the outstanding service and attention to detail offered by Royal Brunei cabin crew and enjoyed by our guests”.

“Australia has been a key market for Royal Brunei and will continue to be when the time is right with our Melbourne-Brunei and connecting services to various cities on our network proving popular for leisure and business travellers ” he added.

Graham E. Cooke, Founder, World Travel Awards, also commented on the achievement, “Congratulations to Royal Brunei Airlines for being voted ‘World’s Leading Cabin Crew’,” adding,  “The entire team possesses an incredible passion for raising inflight service to an entirely new level and I am delighted that this has been acknowledged by both the travel trade and consumers.”
