Sydney Symphony Orchestra CEO Emma Dunch welcomed the partnership saying, “People come from all over the world to join the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and experience music with us in our home, the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall”.

“Through international and regional tours, we have shared music in some of the most beautiful halls worldwide and met music-lovers across the globe. We’ve experienced first-hand music’s ability to transcend different cultures, to bring people together and to take us on wonderful journeys. Abercrombie & Kent’s passion for travel in the pursuit of inspiring experiences is a perfect alignment with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and we are proud to welcome them as our official Masters Series sponsors.”

The orchestra’s Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra features music from different corners of the world, including Czech composer Leoš Janáček’s Taras Bulba, Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, and the Australian premiere of Music for Ensemble and Orchestra, written by American composer Steve Reich and co-commissioned by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with several international orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony and Baltic Sea Philharmonic.

A&K’s Regional Managing Director Australasia Asia, Ms Sujata Raman, also applauded the partnership saying, “I am extremely pleased to announce the association between our two organisations. It celebrates our mutual passion for excellence, for providing inspiring experiences, and for transporting, literally and figuratively, audiences and guests to other worlds. We have always believed that truly great travel – being somewhere amazing, with an open heart and an expert guide – helps make the world a bigger and a better place. Like great music, it allows us to be inspired by something larger than ourselves, to appreciate beauty and talent and see the world through a new lens, in a new light, bringing new perspectives and enriching lives. We are very much looking forward to sharing the Sydney Symphony Orchestra experience with more Abercrombie & Kent travellers.”
