Byron Bay based private accommodation specialists; A Perfect Stay, has acquired the Melbourne-based Boutique Stays business, adding 65 properties to its existing network, bringing its portfolio to over 300 properties on Australia’s east coast.

A Perfect Stay started from humble beginnings by husband and wife team, Sonya and Garth Brien, in 2004 as ‘Byron Bay Holiday Rentals’, with a studio at Wategos Beach and has since experienced extensive growth, predominantly in the South East Queensland / Northern NSW catchment.  With the Boutique Stays acquisition, the company is now expanding into Victoria with plans for further growth across Australia – prompting the company name change to A Perfect Stay to reflect this.

The company has experienced very strong growth since 2015, with the acquisition of Boutique Stays taking this up to 140% growth.  In terms of booking numbers, from its inception to June 2019, the company accommodated over 160,000 guests, and booked over 910,000 guest nights. Based on current booking rates and its recent acquisition, A Perfect Stay anticipates hitting its millionth guest night by Christmas this year.

“We’ve seen exponential organic growth since establishing the business in 2004. We put this down to the fact that Australians want a ‘perfect’ getaway without dealing with cancelled bookings and false advertisements. Both guests and homeowners want professionalism and reliability when booking a holiday and this is reflected by the growing number of guest bookings with us every year,” says National Marketing Manager, Angela Spehr.

A Perfect Stay’s network of 300 properties are located in destinations across the east coast of Australia, including Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Scotts Head, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Sydney, Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

“The concept behind A Perfect Stay means that our guests can ‘feel at home anywhere’, they get the perfect stay and we take care of the rest – and the same goes for property owners. We manage the whole experience for them,” says Spehr.

The acquisition of Boutique Stays is just the beginning in terms of expansion; A Perfect Stay has established areas for growth including key cities in Australia, regional areas and leisure destinations nationwide.

Determined to create a streamlined ‘perfect’ holiday experience for guests and homeowners, A Perfect Stay provides more than just a booking platform. Unlike Airbnb or Stayz, A Perfect Stay manages each property from directing renovation, styling and on-boarding, to guest vetting, exchange of keys, cleaning, ongoing maintenance and liaison – with managers available 24/7 throughout each guest’s stay.

Properties listed with A Perfect Stay are categorised to suit a variety of travel needs including Pet-friendly; Family-friendly; ‘Superluxe’; Romantic; Waterfront; Beachfront and Affordable accommodation styles.
