Princess Cruises, one of the best-known names in cruising, today welcomes the arrival of Crown Princess into Fremantle Port to mark the launch of its 2025-26 Summer Cruise Season for Perth and Western Australia.

Princess has played a significant role in the growth of the cruise market in Western Australia, carrying hundreds of thousands of Australians on cruise holidays every year, as well as overseas visitors coming to see the best of what the state has to offer.

Princess Cruises Vice President, Asia Pacific Matthew Rutherford said the arrival of Crown Princess kicks off the exciting summer cruise season on offer for local, national and international guests alike.

“Princess Cruises has a deep passion for Western Australia, and our commitment to cruising these remarkable waters is unwavering,” said Rutherford, Vice President Asia Pacific. “Every voyage here is a celebration of the region’s beauty, culture, and hospitality.”

“For years, we’ve proudly welcomed guests from every corner of the globe—including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia—introducing them to the extraordinary experiences that only Western Australia can offer. Our cruises have become a bridge connecting international travellers with the heart of this vibrant state.”

“With today’s arrival of Crown Princess in Fremantle, we’re not just launching a new summer cruise season—we’re inviting guests from across Western Australia and beyond to embark on journeys that showcase the very best this region has to offer. This season promises unforgettable adventures and lasting memories for every traveller.”

Crown Princess will depart from Fremantle later today to make calls into the beautiful Margaret River (Busselton) and picturesque Albany as part of its Round Australia itinerary, before cruising through the Southern Ocean to visit Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, and Sydney.

A range of excursions will be available for guests to choose from in Margaret River and Albany, from exploring the Ngilgi Caves and Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse to the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk and Torndirrup National Park—in addition to the wide range of food and beverage excursion options on offer at both locations.

Crown Princess will return in 2026 on its Northern Explorer itinerary to make calls into Exmouth and Broome, before taking part in scenic cruising through the stunning Yampi Sound and the incomparable Kimberley Coast.

Princess Cruises’ 2025-26 Summer Cruise Season is estimated to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in economic benefit for the Western Australian local economy, with calls into regional ports supporting small businesses, tourist operators and the wider community in visited locations.

Mr Rutherford said the launch of the 2025-26 Summer Cruising Season demonstrates the strong commitment Princess Cruises has in Western Australia and sets the scene for the recently announced deployment of Sapphire Princess in Fremantle as its home port in late 2027, making Princess the only large premium cruise line to both return and to homeport a ship in Western Australia.

“With more than 3,000 guests sailing aboard Crown Princess, Princess Cruises is proudly redefining the benchmark for cruising excellence in Western Australia,” he said.

“We are truly excited to unveil the very best of Western Australia to our guests onboard Crown Princess. From breathtaking landscapes to vibrant local culture, every journey promises to inspire and delight.”
