An upper-midscale brand is an extended-stay option designed with the needs of hotel developers and World of Hyatt loyalty members. Hyatt Studios will be constructed based on scalable options and an efficient operating model to cater to the needs of local markets across primary, secondary, and tertiary areas. The brand offers a flexible approach to accommodate extended- and shorter-length-of-stay leisure and business transient guests, depending on the hotel’s guest base and market.

Hyatt Studios guestrooms will marry form with function and offer suites with kitchen amenities to provide comfort during extended trips away from home. The king guestroom plan provides a spacious 339 square feet of comfort, and all guestroom kitchens will feature a multi-function convection microwave.

The announcement is supported by letters of interest from multiple developers for developing more than 100 Hyatt Studios hotels. Construction is expected to begin in 2023, and the first hotel to open in 2024. The Hyatt Studios brand will join the select service category, which includes Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, and Caption by Hyatt, offering self-serve amenities and in-room offerings.

“We identified a white space for Hyatt, creating a compelling opportunity to significantly accelerate our industry-leading net rooms growth, care for World of Hyatt members on more stay occasions and introduce World of Hyatt to new guests in a new segment which we expect will drive increased direct bookings for all properties across the Hyatt portfolio,” said Jim Chu, Chief Growth Officer, Hyatt.

Hyatt Studios aims to provide guests with a comfortable and high-quality experience that meets Hyatt’s signature standards. The guest rooms will feature suites with kitchen amenities, providing guests with everything they need to feel comfortable and live their full lives when away from home. The food and beverage experience will include a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast and a 24-hour market with various options to satisfy extended-stay guests.

Hyatt Studios is led by industry veteran Dan Hansen, who served as a strategic advisor throughout the brand’s conception. The brand’s launch is a testament to Hyatt’s innovative approach to meeting the needs of its guests and the hotel development community. With the Hyatt Studios brand, Hyatt is set to accelerate its net rooms growth and care for World of Hyatt members on more stay occasions while introducing the brand to new guests in a new segment, which is expected to drive increased direct bookings for all properties across the Hyatt portfolio.
