Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel, has made its Fremantle debut, with Norwegian Spirit docking in Western Australia for the first time. Close to 2,000 passengers aboard the ship will have the opportunity to explore the city during a 14-hour stay, supporting local businesses and tourism while showcasing the city to international travellers.

“We’re thrilled to visit Fremantle for the very first time, and our guests are just as excited to explore this beautiful port and the other incredible destinations we’ll visit across Western Australia,” said Ben Angell, managing director and vice president of APAC, Norwegian Cruise Line. “But our commitment goes far beyond one state – Norwegian Spirit’s arrival isn’t just a first for our brand, it’s a vote of confidence in Australia’s cruise future. NCL is stepping forward, supporting regional ports right across the country to deliver unforgettable experiences and inject real value into the visitor economy – now and into the future.”

Norwegian Spirit redefines the cruising experience with a premium, curated offering tailored for adult travellers – no kids’ clubs and no waterslides – just a more sophisticated way to cruise.  Designed for guests seeking effortless escapes and easy exploration without compromising on world-class entertainment, service or amenities, Norwegian Spirit delivers the perfect balance of smaller ship intimacy and elevated onboard experiences.  With freedom and flexibility at the heart of every voyage, this adult-centric ship fills a distinct gap in the local market for those who value choice, comfort and a more refined way to travel.

After Fremantle, the ship will continue to Busselton and Albany – also maiden visits – before sailing along Australia’s stunning coastline with calls to Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Eden, and Burnie, including an overnight stay in Melbourne offering more than 30 hours to explore this iconic port city. The ship’s first Australian sailing this season concludes in Sydney on 21 December.

Departing on 6 and 21 January 2027, these round-trip sailings are the ideal introduction to cruising and to NCL, underscoring the cruise line’s commitment to giving guests more of what they want from their holiday.

The 26/27 season will begin with a 12-day South Pacific sailing from Lautoka, Fiji to Sydney in November 2026, featuring four quintessential Fiji ports, calls to Port Vila and Mystery Island in Vanuatu, a stop in Brisbane and NCL’s first visit to Newcastle since 2019.
