PayPal has announced the launch of Xoom, its fast, secure and reliable international money transfer service, in Australia. This expansion enables Australians to easily and safely send money to family and friends in over 150 countries across more than 100 currencies.
With Xoom, Australians can choose to transfer funds directly to recipients’ bank accounts, mobile wallets or opt for cash pick-up or home delivery services, in many countries.1 Already trusted by millions of people worldwide, Xoom serves 95% of Australia’s major remittance receiver markets – including India, China, the Philippines, Vietnam and the UK.
With more than 9.5 million active PayPal accounts in Australia, representing about half the adult population, Xoom will be available for many Australians to use from day one. Australians with a verified PayPal account can simply sign up to Xoom using their existing PayPal credentials and begin using Xoom immediately for international transfers.1

How to use Xoom:
- Access points: Via the Xoom app, Xoom.com, or within the PayPal app.
- Log-in: Use your PayPal credentials to create a Xoom account or easily create a Xoom account if you’re new to PayPal.
- Payment options: Pay with a linked bank account, debit or credit card, or use any funding option in your existing PayPal Wallet or PayPal balance
- Sending options: Choose to send money to a bank account or for cash pickup, home delivery, in supported countries
- Sending limits: Send up to AU $50,000 per transaction3
- Real-time tracking: Monitor transfers in real time through the Xoom app or PayPal account.
