Condé Nast Traveler US and Conde Nast Traveller UK today announce the results of their annual Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025 with King Island, Tasmania’s luxury off-grid accommodation Kittawa Lodge recognised as #16 on the US Edition’s World’s Best Resorts in Australia Pacific and #9 on the UK Edition’s World’s Best Resorts in Australasia and The South Pacific.

The inclusion on the US List places Kittawa Lodge at number one for Tasmania (up one place from last year), number six for Australia and one of only seven Australian properties to make the top 20 for US Readers in its World’s Best Resorts. Kittawa Lodge is also the only property from Tasmania to make the Best Resorts list.

Making its debut in 2025, Kittawa Lodge has also been recognised by Condé Nast Traveller UK as number nine on its exclusive list of just ten properties for Best Resorts across Australasia and The South Pacific. Kittawa Lodge co-owner, Aaron Suine shares,

“There is no greater reward for our efforts than to be acknowledged by our valued guests in this prestigious listing. This year, we are incredibly humbled to be the only Tasmanian resort or lodge, and one of the few in Australia, to be listed across each of the US and UK lists. As an independently owned luxury hospitality brand, this is a huge accomplishment, and is a reflection of our commitment to providing an uber-premium, quintessentially-Australian, luxury experience for both our domestic and international guests.”

Set on 96 acres of untouched coastal landscape, Kittawa Lodge invites guests to experience the wild beauty of King Island. Located between Tasmania and mainland Australia, it offers dramatic seascapes to windswept dunes. Kittawa’s recently launched two-bedroom Retreat adds to its already existing two one-bedroom Lodges, which have been architecturally designed to maximise natural light and a connection to the outdoors, whilst still offering complete privacy.

With a deep commitment to sustainability, Kittawa Lodge operates off-grid while maintaining a sense of effortless indulgence — luxury here is about simplicity, authenticity, and tranquility. The Kittawa Retreat offers the same refined luxury as the two existing one-bedroom Lodges and amplifies the guest experience with additional features, including:

  • Secluded outdoor seating area and hot tub –with panoramic ocean views, creating the perfect setting for relaxation under the vast island skies
  • Private cellar – stocked with an extensive selection of fine wines, and spirits, a library and games
  • Versatile luxury accommodation – ideal for two couples, friend groups or families, as well as discerning travellers seeking the ultimate in space and exclusivity, the Kittawa Retreat offers flexible luxury. Each bedroom features a king-sized bed and seating area, with the option to convert the second bedroom into twin singles if required
