Accelya, the leader in airline retailing technology, announces its ongoing position as the top global provider of New Distribution Capability (NDC) services in 2024, according to the latest data from independent analyst, T2RL. Maintaining its position for a second year, Accelya continues to power over half of all global NDC transactions.
With recent research from Atmosphere Research Group showing two thirds (66%) of airlines have implemented NDC, unlocking additional revenue opportunities and attracting new customers, NDC distribution is expected to triple over the next three years from seven to 21% of total bookings. Adoption data clearly shows the airline industry moving towards a more retail-driven, passenger centric future, with Accelya the leading provider powering airlines into the modern-retailing future.
Based on the most recent NDC API volume data from independent analyst T2RL, Accelya achieved a 53.3% share of global NDC volumes. This is multiple times the volume of the next closest third-party IT provider. This market leadership reflects the trust airlines place in Accelya to deliver the scale, resilience, and commercial agility required to modernize their retailing strategies.
“There’s a difference between offering NDC and making NDC real for customers,” said Sam Gilliland, CEO of Accelya. “For several years, we’ve led the industry in driving real NDC adoption and bookings. With more than half of global volumes continuing to run through our platform, we’re helping airlines go beyond pilots and into scalable, revenue-generating retailing and setting a foundation for Offers & Orders.”
Built for Scale, Trusted for Transformation
The latest T2RL data underscores Accelya’s AWS enabled platform’s ability to deliver NDC with unmatched scale, performance, and reliability.
As NDC adoption continues to expand across both corporate and leisure channels, Accelya enables richer and more relevant content, and end-to-end Offer, Order, Settle, and Delivery (OOSD) capabilities to support airline retailing strategies at scale.
Enabling the Shift to Offers & Orders
Accelya’s cloud-native, modular platform, powered by AWS, supports the airline industry’s transition to IATA’s full OOSD. The platform allows carriers to decouple from legacy PSS systems and unify pricing, order management, delivery, and settlement into a single modern retailing architecture.
“We’re not just powering NDC, we’re enabling the next generation of airline commerce,” added Gilliland. “From offer creation to fulfilment, our customers are unlocking new retailing models and delivering better experiences across channels.”
