The Albion by Kirk Westaway has been named Restaurant of the Year at the Tatler Best Vietnam 2025 awards. With its clean, fresh approach to modern British cuisine, served in a casual yet elegant setting and complemented by warm, intentional service, The Albion has quickly become one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most talked-about dining destinations.
Now in its second edition, Tatler Best Vietnam is a definitive guide to the country’s most outstanding restaurants, chefs and dining experiences. Curated by Tatler Asia’s editorial team and regional tastemakers, the awards spotlight innovation, consistency and creativity at the highest level.
Situated on the 23rd floor of Hôtel des Arts Saigon – MGallery Collection, The Albion is the latest Southeast Asian concept by acclaimed British chef Kirk Westaway. Best known for his two Michelin-starred JAAN in Singapore, Chef Kirk brings his innovative Modern British approach to Vietnam, reimagining time-honoured British flavours through a contemporary lens. Led by Head Chef Christopher Clarke, the team presents a refined yet approachable menu built around high-quality seasonal ingredients and exceptional execution.
Signature dishes such as The Albion Tomato, featuring organic heritage tomatoes with housemade ketchup and a refreshing basil and orange sorbet; Lobster Cocktail, an elevated take on a British classic with sweet Vietnamese lobster in smoky Marie-Rose sauce; Hokkaido Scallops, grilled over Japanese charcoal and served with barbecued baby leeks and a smoky bacon sauce; and Wagyu with Guinness Sauce, a rich, deeply flavoured dish accompanied by roasted shallots, potatoes and a signature stout reduction, showcase Chef Kirk Westaway’s elegant and produce-driven reinterpretation of British cuisine.
Named after the ancient term for Britain, with a menu featuring modern British dishes, The Albion is the perfect intersection of old and new. Antique touches such as the historic British bar and rich wooden panels meet contemporary accents, with rich wallpapers and a myriad of wonderfully contrasting textures. The lush interiors are matched only by the panoramic views of the city, making it bright and dynamic.
“It’s an honour to be recognised by Tatler Best Vietnam,” said Chef Kirk Westaway. “This award reaffirms our belief that modern British cuisine resonates with a global audience. We’re proud to bring a new perspective to Vietnam’s dynamic dining scene.”
Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Hôtel des Arts Saigon, added, “The Albion has brought something truly unique to our property and to the city. This recognition from Tatler reflects the talent, dedication and passion of Chef Kirk, Chef Chris and the entire team. We’re incredibly proud to be home to Vietnam’s Restaurant of the Year.”
