Queensland’s largest civil construction expo, the Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show, is set to welcome record crowds to the Brisbane Showgrounds from tomorrow.
The three-day expo (Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 May) in Sideshow Alley will feature more than 100 vendors and is a one stop destination for all things civil – from heavy equipment sales and rentals through to auxiliary services including insurance and training.
Around 7,000 people are expected to attend the event hosted by Civil Contractors Federation Queensland Limited (CCF QLD), up from 5,500 at their most recent show in 2023.
The expo will kick off tomorrow with a live radio broadcast from the SENQ Breakfast Show, featuring Australian cricket great Ian Healy and former NRL star Corey Parker.
Other event highlights include a new Members’ Marquee with happy-hour drinks, networking and entertainment each afternoon, plus hands-on experiences such as the opportunity to get behind the wheel of heavy machinery and simulators.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were thrilled to host the Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show for the second time.
“The growth in attendance shows how important the event is to the civil construction industry and we’re proud to provide a venue that can accommodate this increased demand,” he said.
“Our venue offers a large variety of event spaces, and in addition to the expo, CCF QLD will host its annual State Conference at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow, in our state-of-the-art Royal International Convention Centre.”
The event will run from 8am to 4pm daily, with tickets available online. The Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show has once again partnered with the Brisbane Truck Show, offering fully reciprocal tickets between both shows and free shuttle buses for ticket holders between the events.
