The growing number of people who enjoy the freedom of solo travel can save up to A$2520, with Murray River Paddlesteamers scrapping a 60 per cent solo surcharge on three, four and seven-night cruises aboard the famous paddlesteamer, Emmylou, this January, February and June, 2025.

The special offer is available until January 31, 2025, or until sold out.

The 16-guest  PS Emmylou starred in the hit 1980s TV mini-series, ‘All the Rivers Run’, starring Sigrid Thornton, and is still one of the most recognisable and iconic paddlesteamers in Australia. Powered by a restored 1906 steam engine and totally refurbished with deluxe cabins and ensuites, the charm-filled riverboat offers authentic, all-inclusive journeys along the mighty Murray with stops to visit wineries, historic farm stations, indigenous sites, wildlife along tributaries and country towns.

PS Emmylou offers a series of three, four and seven-night cruises on the Murray River from Echuca on the Victorian/NSW border. Each cabin has a private ensuite, air-conditioning, WIFI and opens directly onto the paddlesteamer’s timber deck. Guests enjoy gourmet meals on deck or in the charming saloon, riverside picnics and a memorable campfire dinner on the riverbank under the stars. Each evening, PS Emmylou ties up at tranquil and remote moorings, allowing guests to experience the serenity and wildlife of the bush at night.

After the removal of the 60 per cent solo surcharge, solo fares are available from A$1800 for a three-night sailing – a saving of A$1080,  A$2400 for a four-night cruise – a saving of A$1440, and A$4200 for a seven-night journey – a saving of A$2520.  These solo fares are available until January 31, 2025, or until sold out.

Cruise fares aboard Emmylou and Australian Star include all onboard meals, daily shore excursions, selected beers and wines with dinner and soft drink, bottled water and tea/coffee throughout the journey and coach transfers during the cruise.

Emmylou’s sailings this June will be her last under her current, normal program before her charter with Travelmarvel begins in August, 2025.  Joining the Murray River Paddlesteamers fleet this winter is the brand new, bigger, five-star, overnight vessel,  PS Australian Star, currently under construction.
