To bring its Oaks Giving Tree CSR program to life and encourage guests to give during the festive season, Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites will transform its lobby Christmas trees into real-life ‘giving trees’ so travellers can have a feel-good moment whilst doing good and celebrate their charitable contributions – and those of others.
The major beneficiary of Oaks Giving Tree donations will be Habitat for Humanity Australia and New Zealand, which works with vulnerable families facing adverse circumstances, from family violence to natural disasters or disability, to achieve the dream of building and owning a safe, secure home of their own.
From now until the end of December, guests can show their support and hang their name on a dedicated decoration on an Oaks ‘giving tree’ by doing one of the following:
– Making a donation to Habitat for Humanity during online booking via the Oaks Hotels website
– Purchasing a charity bottle of Mt Franklin water at the hotel, with $1 from each sale pledged to Habitat for Humanity
“We are excited to make our Oaks Giving Tree program more visible to our guests this festive season and to encourage the spirit of giving at what can be a particularly difficult time for the most vulnerable people in our community,” said Craig Hooley, Chief Operating Officer, Minor Hotels Australasia. “Oaks Hotels’ core purpose is to be a ‘home away from home’, which is why we’re using our resources and our platform to help our staff and guests offer a safe home to as many people as possible.”
Oaks Hotels provides support to the charity through financial fundraising to facilitate building programs and team volunteering activities including helping with landscaping, renovations and gardening.
Since the advent of their partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Oaks Hotels has given a ‘hand up’ to 160 vulnerable families including women and children escaping domestic violence.
