The Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko, presented by UTMB, returns to the Snowy Mountains from November 28th-30th. With over 3,400 athletes, plus spectators, volunteers, and support crews, Thredbo is expected to serve as a base camp for competitors throughout the event.
Featuring four distances—the Kosci30, Kosci50, Kosci100, and KosciMiler—the Kosciuszko National Park sets the stage for athletes to push their limits across some of Australia’s most picturesque running terrain. Athletes will experience runnable trails winding through Australia’s iconic snow gum forests and granite outcrops, creating the ultimate runner’s high.
With run clubs and outdoor adventure rapidly gaining popularity across Australia, it’s clear why this event sells out year after year.
Racing kicks off on Thursday, November 28th, and continues through Saturday, November 30th, with thousands of athletes crossing the finish line at Thredbo Resort. If past events are any indication, the atmosphere at the finish line at Friday Flat will be electric as athletes complete their extraordinary feats.
Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko is also part of the UTMB World Series, with all distances offering the chance to earn Running Stones, the qualification pathway for the prestigious Ultra-Trail Mont Blanc. This, along with the event’s infectious atmosphere, is one of the reasons athletes flock from around the world to take on this challenge.
With the singular finish line for all distances located on Friday Flat, Thredbo Resort will transform into the perfect home base for athletes and spectators alike throughout the three-day event. Spectators can cheer on athletes as they race through Thredbo Village before heading to the finish line to witness the thrilling conclusion, which many will be watching from across the globe.
