On the occasion of the International Chefs Day, Blue Elephant Group’s Master Chef Nooror Somany Steppe (5th from left) got together with the renowned Michelin-starred ‘Jay Fai’ or Chef Supinya Junsuta (6th from left), to stage a charity brunch with proceeds going towards UNHCR’s Empathy Emergency Fund, supporting refugees in crisis worldwide at Blue Elephant Sukhumvit Thai Heritage Cuisine and Monkey Pod Garden Bar recently.
The charity event, represented by Ms. Nivene Albert (3rd from right), UNHCR’s Deputy Representative in Thailand, successfully raised a total of Baht 800,000 through auctions, ticket sales, raffles, and generous donations. Highlights included a painting by renowned Thai artist Vorasan Supap that sold for Baht 410,000, as well as Jay Fai’s iconic culinary tools—her goggles and spatula—fetching Baht 70,000. Additionally, Master Chef Nooror’s heirloom cookbook and a special jacket worn during a recent Royal Decoration ceremony brought in Baht 60,000. The contributions will significantly support UNHCR’s efforts around the globe.
