The FIFA Club World Cup, recently expanded to include 32 teams, is an international tournament between the most successful clubs from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.
Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field is one of twelve U.S. stadiums that will host the tournament matches between June 15 and July 13, 2025. Specific match dates and rankings will be announced at a later date, but several internationally known clubs have already qualified, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
“As we gear up for FIFA World Cup 26 in less than 24 months, hosting the FIFA Club World Cup is the perfect showcase of our readiness to welcome fans from across the globe.” Said Larry Needle, Executive Director of PHL Sports, a division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, the city’s global tourism agency. “We’re proud that Philadelphia is once again on a very short list of cities to host the world’s biggest sporting events, and grateful to the Philadelphia Eagles and City of Philadelphia for their leadership and partnership around these events.”
Lincoln Financial Field, also home to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, has a capacity of over 67,000 fans, massive LED video displays and over 500 concession stands. The stadium is located in the South Philadelphia sports complex, easily accessible from the city center by public transportation.
In recent years, Lincoln Financial Field has hosted several international sporting events, including the 2015 Concacaf Gold Cup, the 2023 English Premier League Summer Series, and WrestleMania XL in April 2024.
