In late November, as temperatures drop and holiday lights brighten the night sky, families across the Midwest will begin their annual trips to Downtown St. Louis for the highly anticipated return of Winterfest, a beloved holiday festival set against the stunning backdrop of the Gateway Arch.

Winterfest is ideal for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the festive spirit of the season, and promises lasting memories in one of the Midwest’s most charming downtowns.
This enchanting holiday event features a delightful array of activities for visitors of all ages, including ice skating, 100,000 twinkling lights, cozy fire pits complete with s’mores kits, private heated igloos with dedicated food and beverage service, rich hot chocolate and wintry cocktails and mocktails available for purchase, and a programming calendar full of surprises. Events include gift markets, appearances by princesses and superheroes, holiday-themed karaoke nights, and a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration complete with entertainment and fireworks.
Located in Kiener Plaza, Winterfest transforms a portion of the Gateway Mall into a winter wonderland from November 23 to December 31, 2024. The festival kicks off with the third annual Winterfest 5K on opening day, offering participants a scenic route through Gateway Arch National Park. The day culminates in the Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights, featuring the lighting of the Salvation Army Tree of Lights and a spectacular fireworks display.
Winterfest’s growing popularity is amplified by its location. St. Louis is known for having more free, world-renowned attractions and museums per capita than any other destination, making it an exceptionally affordable winter break activity for travelers. Downtown St. Louis also features a variety of other festive things to do, with attractions like City Museum and St. Louis Union Station hosting their own exceptional experiences just blocks from the festival. Hotel specials start to go live in October with deals and packages for every type of tourist.
Winterfest is presented by Bank of America and World Wide Technology and produced by Gateway Arch Park Foundation in partnership with the St. Louis Blues
