The St. Regis Bangkok announces the launch of a new culinary collaboration with Peace Oriental Teahouse, blending classic oriental teas with contemporary minimalism and gastronomy. This special themed afternoon tea experience showcases premium ingredients from Peace Oriental Teahouse, Thailand’s first contemporary teahouse, and is served exclusively at The St. Regis Bar from October 1 to November 30, 2024.
Peace Oriental Teahouse is renowned for its premium quality teas and genuine passion for attention to detail. Their dedication begins with sourcing directly from local farmers across Japan, China, Taiwan, and Thailand, research and product development for the best quality and perfect flavors. The commitment also includes environmentally conscious practices to stock forest honey in the late Summer only to encourage locals to help increase the number of wild bees and preserve the Northern Thai Forest, and the detailed craftsmanship of its teahouse interiors and furnishings.
“We are excited to partner with Peace Oriental Teahouse for our latest afternoon tea experience which allows our talented chefs to showcase their culinary creations inspired by the oriental and minimal philosophy, whereas the character of each Peace Oriental Teahouse ingredients is clearly distinguishable,” explains Sam Chia, Hotel Manager of The St. Regis Bangkok. “This collaboration enhances our rich heritage of The St. Regis’s signature ritual while embracing local Thai craftmanship and quality excellence.”
The St. Regis Bangkok x Peace Oriental Teahouse Afternoon Tea experience begins with the Scones with Dried Persimmon, served alongside jams, whipped cream, and cream cheese. Savory culinary delights are then presented, crafted by the hotel’s Executive Sous Chef Matteo Fontana. Highlight dishes that incorporate Peace Oriental Teahouse’s ingredients include Matcha Pesto & Cherry Tomato Tart and a Hojicha éclair — topped with savory Parma ham and a tangy twist of pickled melon — and the Matcha and Yuzu Jelly Crab Salad. The menu also features Gorgonzola Cheese Vol Au Vent, with its rich filling of balsamic caramelized grapes, as well as the Spicy Roasted Shrimps Cone with Mango Gel, presenting a lively combination of heat and sweet.
The dessert selection, curated by Executive Pastry Chef Nuntida Punyabaramee, marries French pastry finesse with oriental nuances. Highlight creations which showcase Peace’s ingredients include the Hojicha Dacquoise, with its almond base and rich hojicha cream, paired with candied orange to enhance the tea’s robust flavor. The Matcha Chocolate Bar layers lush chocolate sponge with white chocolate ganache and vibrant matcha. For a lighter touch, the Milk Purin comes with grapefruit and is drizzled with Peace’s forest honey from Northern Thailand. Other creations include the Chestnut, Blackcurrant Financier, offering a satisfying contrast with its nutty base and tart blackcurrant filling. The experience culminates with the unique Miso Caramel Bonbon, inspired by the original Miso Caramel Coffee from qraft. by Peace Oriental Teahouse, blending miso caramel with pear brandy encased in a chocolate almond shell.
