Resplendent Ceylon’s Pekoe Trail Journey covers two stages of the Pekoe Trail and invites guests to stay at three of the properties Tea Trails bungalows. During the journey, hikers will immerse themselves in the verdant landscapes of this iconic tea region, discovering cascading waterfalls, lush valleys and panoramic vistas along the way. Hatton’s blend of natural beauty and historical charm offers an unforgettable adventure for tea lovers and hiking enthusiasts alike.

Malik J. Fernando, Chairman and Managing Director of Resplendent Ceylon, shared, “In 2005, we transformed tourism in the Central Highlands tea country by introducing the Relais & Chateaux Tea Trails bungalows. These bungalows, connected by walking and biking paths, were known as Tea Trails. The Pekoe Trail builds on this concept, spanning 300km across the Central Highlands. This innovative ‘slow travel’ experience caters to travellers seeking outdoor adventures, conscious travel, and a connection with local communities. It showcases the best of Sri Lanka’s scenery, fresh air, and climate, away from the usual tourist routes.”

He added, “Ceylon Tea Trails and the Pekoe Trail are inherently connected, offering guests a seamless blend of luxury and adventure. Our bungalows are uniquely located, allowing guests to explore multiple stages of the Pekoe Trail, truly immersing themselves in the natural beauty and heritage of Sri Lanka’s tea country.”
