On behalf of the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, we extend our warmest congratulations and aloha to Dr. Aaron J. Salā for joining the Hawai‘i Visitors & Convention Bureau as its new President and CEO, effective September 1.
Aaron brings extensive experience as a highly accomplished leader and cultural advisor, whose impactful, innovative work in Hawai‘i’s visitor industry and beyond has no bounds.
Most recently, he championed the unprecedented 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture hosting our fellow Pacific Island delegations in June and served as the cultural creative producer for ‘Auana, Hawai‘i’s upcoming Cirque du Soleil residency.
He has worked as a music director and arranger for several Disney projects, including Aulani and the production of Moana in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i. He also served as the director of cultural affairs at Royal Hawaiian Center at Helumoa.
No stranger to HTA, Aaron served on our Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015 including a stint as Board Chair. We look forward to working with him further in his new role.
Aaron’s steadfast commitment to our communities on each island will be vital in ensuring that visitors benefit our people, places and living cultures, supporting our collective efforts toward Hawai‘i’s regenerative tourism future. As our esteemed partner at the helm of HVCB, we wish Aaron much success ahead.
