This week, Governor Ron DeSantis signed the Focus on Florida’s Future Budget, allocating $80 million to VISIT FLORIDA. This investment highlights the ongoing commitment of the Governor and the Florida Legislature to bolster the state’s tourism industry. This continued investment will ensure Florida remains a top destination for global visitors.
In 2023, Florida shattered previous records by welcoming 140.6 million visitors, with domestic visitation reaching an all-time high. The first quarter of 2024 showed continued momentum with 40.6 million visitors — a 1.2% year-over-year increase and the highest number ever received in a single quarter in the state’s history.
“Governor DeSantis’s support of VISIT FLORIDA and Florida’s tourism industry shows his deep commitment to the success of Floridians across the state,” said Dana Young, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA. “With this support, we are confident that VISIT FLORIDA will continue to set new standards in the tourism industry and significantly increase tourism’s contribution to Florida’s economy.”
With this funding, VISIT FLORIDA will continue to work towards reaching new heights for Florida’s tourism industry. This investment will support innovative marketing strategies, enhance partnerships within the tourism industry, and ensure that Florida continues to offer unparalleled experiences for our visitors.
