This newly established role will focus on the growth and success in the APAC region. Gainey will be instrumental in fostering relationships and enhancing the team’s knowledge.
With more than 20 years of experience in the tourism and aviation sectors, Gainey brings a wealth of expertise from her tenure with reputable brands, including Flight Centre, IHG, Starwood and Qantas.
The addition of the expansive role will positively impact all aspects of travel in the region. Managing Director of TAG APAC Shane Barr expressed, “This an exciting new role for TAG in APAC. Gainey’s journey began at Flight Centre; however, her multifaceted experience—encompassing roles in agencies, hotels, and airlines—uniquely equips her to spearhead impactful strategies in this pivotal role. Her tenure as Commercial Partnerships Manager at Qantas further honed her expertise in sales, strategic partnerships, business strategy and marketing, enhancing her ability to drive success in diverse business environments.

The appointment of Gainey follows TAG’s strong start to the year, and aligns with a series of successful acquisitions, including CCM and APEX Travel in Australia. In addition, the company has acquired two prominent New Zealand travel and event organisations, Sound Travels and Red Hot Travel & Events.
