South West Sydney Tourism is the pioneer tourism association that has taken the initiative to launch the Western Sydney Tourism Awards this October 2024 to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the tourism industry in South West and Western Sydney.
Established in 2017, the South West Sydney Tourism Taskforce NSW Inc. is a non-profit organisation that promotes the visitor market and tourism opportunities in the region, engaging with government representatives and businesses to revitalize local tourism assets and organising industry events with key speakers to foster collaboration within the industry.
Our board members possess extensive expertise in various fields, including business leadership, hospitality, hotel ownership across diverse brands, food and beverage, compliance with licensed venues, organizing business events, multicultural and business events, radio and media presentations, and community engagement and fundraising activities.

The organization has collaborated with industry and local government for the last seven years, showcasing destinations and holding information events for members and stakeholders. They have organized events on topics such as travel agent packages, hotel investments, showcasing tourism-ready businesses, transport, Western Sydney International Airport and Greater Western Sydney commissions, and many more.
The founder, board member, and president, Fazila Farhad, wants all significant stakeholders to support and enter these awards to activate the visitor economy further before the WSI airport opens and prepare local businesses for the influx of travellers. Investments in hotels and tourism businesses are increasing in anticipation of the ten million passengers expected to land in two years.
