Travelers can now enjoy a new catering offer on board of all Discover Airlines short- and long-haul flights. The new food and beverage concept with the title “Let’s discover the taste of joy” is part of the quality push initiated by the leisure airline in the course of its rebranding.
The slogan “Let’s discover” stands for the joy of travelling, discovering and rediscovering beautiful places and experiences – and now also culinary highlights on board. These are inspired by classics of German cuisine as well as international specialities from the destinations in the Discover Airlines route network. In Business Class, a beef roulade with dumplings and Brussels sprouts is served alongside an Oryx antelope goulash from Windhoek or a poblano chili stuffed with vegetarian mole from Cancún.
To get in the mood for the best time of the year, guests on long-haul flights can now also choose from 20 different cocktails and long drinks, including non-alcoholic options. Meat and vegetarian meals are available in all travel classes. Special menu variants such as vegan, kosher and gluten-free, can be pre-ordered free of charge through the Discover Airlines Service Center up to 48 hours prior to departure.
The new catering features are based on the results of regular customer surveys conducted by Discover Airlines. The revamped product responds to their desire to discover new culinary delights, such as local specialties, in addition to familiar classics.
“On board our flights, we not only want to ensure that you enjoy your holiday, but also that your taste buds are delighted. For this, we work closely with our international catering partners so that we can surprise our guests with new creations every four months when we change the menu,” says Patrick Door, responsible for the onboard product at Discover Airlines.
The Frankfurt-based leisure airline has always attached great importance to sweetening its guests’ way into their holidays, surprising them and creating little moments of joy. In addition to specially created welcome cocktails in Business Class, there are free freshly baked cookies in all long-haul travel classes and in Business Class on short-haul flights – another of the airline’s own creations.
Earlier this year, Discover Airlines upgraded its Premium Economy Class on long-haul flights. Food and beverages are now also served on porcelain and in glasses, similar to Business Class.
