The only *rabbit ever welcome into Queensland is the famous White Rabbit from Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic, Alice in Wonderland!

THIS April he’ll be here, with the internationally acclaimed and stunning beautiful stage production seeing the famous watch-clutching, always-late bunny perform in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Townsville.

Featuring breathtaking costuming and puppetry using ingenious stagecraft and limitless imagination, this glorious new production of Alice in Wonderland will thrill children and adults alike. Along with the White Rabbit, audiences will meet the eccentric Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat and of course the boisterous Queen of Hearts, as a cast of brilliant actors bring over 20 curious characters to life.  Images and video HERE

True to the original book, there is something for everyone with plenty of word play and pun-based humour that older kids and adults will enjoy, while younger children will love the colourful characters, charming puppetry and physical comedy (especially by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!).

Director Penny Farrow said: “I’ve sourced characters, dialogue, and poems from Alice’s Adventures in WonderlandAlice Through the Looking-GlassThe Hunting of the Snark and Rhyme? And Reason? (a collection of Carroll’s poems) for this production.”

“‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.”

“These words begin our play. They are, of course, the opening lines of Jabberwocky, Lewis Carroll’s most well-known poem. In this retelling of Alice’s story, I want to celebrate the playfulness of Carroll’s language. Alice herself says the poem ‘somehow… seems to fill [her] head with ideas’ even though she doesn’t fully understand what it means. What better invitation to enter a world of new words, upside-down logic, preposterous creatures, and bad manners?”

“I love the idea of introducing a child to theatre – or indeed continuing an existing love for it – with a story that celebrates wild imagination and creativity through humour and beautiful, yet silly, language. So, down the rabbit hole we go!”

So, definitely do not be late for these very important dates, or you will miss your chance to tumble down the rabbit hole and join Alice on her captivating and magical adventures!
