As the sun rose over Darwin Port, the silhouette of the Celebrity Edge appeared on the horizon, signalling the end of its repositioning voyage across the South Pacific. The ship, carrying over 2800 passengers and 1300 crew members, arrived from Singapore, completing a 14-night journey that included a memorable stop in Bali and visits to three Australian ports: Darwin, Yorkeys Knob, and Airlie Beach.

The Celebrity Edge’s arrival was a routine docking and a cultural spectacle. The Larrakia Nation, the traditional custodians of the Darwin region, greeted passengers and crew with a mesmerizing Welcome to Country ceremony and traditional dances. This heartwarming welcome continued ashore, where Tourism Top End ambassadors eagerly awaited to showcase Darwin’s unique charm and hospitality.

The Edge-Series ship is a testament to Celebrity Cruises’ commitment to transforming the cruise experience. Its innovative design and cutting-edge technology set a new industry benchmark, offering guests an unparalleled experience. The ship’s maiden voyage from Sydney on 9 December is a much-anticipated 12-night sailing to New Zealand, promising an adventure through stunning landscapes and cultural richness.

This season will feature 12 distinct itineraries departing from Sydney and Auckland, each designed to provide an immersive experience of the region’s natural beauty and cultural diversity. The itineraries are meticulously crafted, allowing guests to explore the best of the South Pacific until April 2024.
