Creating a spectacle at Melbourne Airport, a boarding gate was transformed into Virgin Voyages’ RockStar Quarters, mirroring the ship’s luxurious super-yacht ambience. This setting, complete with a hot tub, balcony, and the ship’s signature hammock, set the stage for an unforgettable reveal as passengers, greeted by dancing sailors and cabin crew, embarked on their flight.

Adding to the excitement, Virgin Voyages also announced attractively priced inaugural sailing packages in Australia. Starting at just $149 per person per night, these offers include up to $1000 in various inclusions, making the luxury experience more accessible.

The day’s highlight was undoubtedly Sir Richard Branson’s surprise Facetime call over the plane’s PA system. The founder announced the free holiday, valued at up to $7,000 per person, leaving passengers in awe. This flight was symbolically chosen to mirror the route of Resilient Lady’s upcoming Mermaiden Voyage from Melbourne’s Station Pier, scheduled for December 11, 2023.

Before boarding, the departure gate at Melbourne Airport had been transformed into an embodiment of luxury, featuring a hot tub, hammock, and a sea view vista, bringing a slice of the cruise experience to the airport.

In a heartwarming twist, Branson extended his generous offer to the flight’s cabin crew, ground crew, baggage handlers, and pilots, acknowledging their role in delivering exceptional service to Virgin Australia’s loyal passengers.

Virgin Voyages, known for its unique adults-only itineraries, is set to redefine sea travel in Australia and New Zealand. “We’re bringing the Virgin way of setting sail to Down Under,” announced Sir Richard Branson, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to affordable, stress-free holidays filled with fun and ‘vitamin sea.’

Libby Minogue, Virgin Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the airline’s dedication to creating exceptional guest experiences. “Today’s event is a testament to the synergy between Virgin brands, offering new adventures in the air and at sea,” said Ms. Minogue.

The CEO of Virgin Voyages, Nirmal Saverimuttu, conveyed his excitement for Resilient Lady’s arrival, emphasizing the unbeatable prices for experiencing the ship’s luxurious amenities and award-winning services.

Resilient Lady will make her Australian debut on December 4 in Sydney before heading to Melbourne for the historic Mermaiden Voyage. Sir Richard Branson is expected to be in Australia to commemorate this milestone.

This grand gesture by Sir Richard Branson not only marks a significant moment for Virgin Voyages but also underlines the brand’s commitment to bringing unprecedented luxury and excitement to the Australian travel scene.
