The bustling capital of India, New Delhi, bore witness to a mesmerizing blend of two rich cultures. The Czech Republic stormed the Indian travel market with a promise of Bohemian magic on the 31st of July, 2023. Spearheaded by the proactive #VisitCzechia initiative, an enthralling Networking Evening painted the town with shades of Bohemian culture, architecture, and hospitality.
The event saw an illustrious mix of dignitaries, starting with a heart-warming address from Her Excellency Ambassador, Ms Eliška Žigová. Her voice was delighted as she hailed the rejuvenated promotional activities of the Czech Republic in the heart of India. Drawing attention to the historically robust Indo-Czech relationships, Ms Žigová envisioned a surge of up to 25% in Indian visitors to the Czech Republic by the end of 2024.
Prague Airport
The aviation industry wasn’t far behind. Mr Jaroslav Filip, Prague Airport’s Aviation Business Director, and Mr Marek Kroutil, the International Markets Manager of CzechTourism, echoed the ambassador’s sentiments. Their notes magnified the potential and the shared excitement about the ever-strengthening travel partnerships.
However, the show-stealer was the engagement at the MILT Congress in Goa from 2nd-3rd August. Revered as the crucible of innovation for meetings, incentives, and weddings, this Congress is where the giants of the travel world converge.
Dominating the Congress, #VisitCzechia showcased the country’s multifaceted charm to MICE groups, Event Planners, Corporations, and more. The audience was particularly intrigued by presentations from Vedi Tours’ Irina Fedina and Kompas Praha’s Marko Brumat, representing the zenith of Czech tourism enterprises.
With the travel industry showing an impressive 15% YoY growth despite global challenges, the timing for this blend of Indian-Czech engagements couldn’t be more perfect. Statistics reveal that MICE tourism holds a 12% share in this growth, and with nations like the Czech Republic proactively reaching out, these figures only hint at a brighter future.
