Kimpton La Peer, an upscale boutique hotel in the heart of West Hollywood’s vibrant Design District, unveiled a new pickleball court on its scenic rooftop in partnership with Grey Goose.

Available all summer, Pickleball at Kimpton La Peer will allow guests and Angelenos alike to play the country’s fastest-growing sport in style, sip refreshing cocktails made with world-class spirits, and mingle with new and old friends while surrounded by panoramic views of Los Angeles.

Pickleball’s popularity shows no signs of slowing down, especially in Los Angeles. More than 36.5 million people played the sport in the U.S. from August 2021 to August 2022, according to the Association of Pickleball Professionals. Kimpton La Peer’s rooftop court will provide a one-of-a-kind way to play the beloved game with its exceptional location and activations.

“Everyone loves a good rooftop, but hop around Los Angeles and you will find it’s a sea of similarity,” said Evan Thomas, general manager at Kimpton La Peer. “When looking at transforming our unique and dynamic rooftop space, we saw an opportunity to do something special while maintaining the essence of a great summer hang; well-crafted cocktails and bites with a DJ setting the mood. Pickleball is that extra element we were looking for to not only encourage wellness but communal fun, no matter your experience level. And our weekend day club, Disco Court, embodies the true social nature of not only the sport of pickleball but West Hollywood as a whole.”

Pickleball at Kimpton La Peer will include all the essentials for the ultimate day on and off the courts. Guests will have access to balls and paddles, comfortable courtside seating for prime viewing, and a curated menu of frozen, classic and signature cocktails using spirits from Grey Goose’s iconic portfolio. In between matches, visitors can savor specialty drinks like the refreshing She Doesn’t Even Go Here, which perfectly blends Grey Goose with the sweet taste of St. Germain liqueur, the bold flavor of Martini & Rossi Fiero, and sparkling Sanpellegrino. Another must-try is the Pickleball Punch with a glass wrapped in a wristband koozie that you can use on the court after. The rooftop space itself will be a sight to see with photo-worthy décor, classic lawn games and shaded tables perfect for gathering to cool off and catch up over a handcrafted cocktail.

From 4-8 p.m. on Fridays and 2-8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, the area will transform into a must-experience “Disco Court” party featuring a DJ playing lively music under a sparkling disco ball as the sun sets. During Disco Court hours, the court will feature open play with no reservations required or court fees. The day of their visit, players can join and organize games via Pickleheads by scanning a QR code at arrival or in advance when time slots open at noon.

Guests and locals can book a pickleball reservation for weekday visits online here for $150 per team of two players for 90 minutes including lunch and a bottle of wine or cocktail carafe. The private court time is for a maximum of 12 players, but Kimpton La Peer also offers full rooftop buyouts for events of up to 250 attendees.

After a day of rallying and relaxing, guests can head downstairs to continue the fun at the hotel’s inviting lobby or courtyard bar, which features warm tones, plenty of greenery, and a menu of delicious bites and more refreshments. There is a large emphasis on handcrafted art and custom furniture throughout the hotel’s common areas, resulting in a quintessential West Hollywood style. Overnight guests can retreat to one of the hotel’s 105 guestrooms and suites that reflect the trendsetting tastes of the Design District.
