Air India has announced an increase in non-stop flights to and from Dubai from Delhi and Mumbai, intending to align the airline’s network with Air India Express to achieve synergy. The enhanced summer schedule will see Air India operate up to 10x daily flights between Delhi and Dubai, including a new flight starting on 29 April 2023. Meanwhile, the airline has ramped up the frequency to 6x daily flights between Mumbai and Dubai. This means that for most of the week, there will be eight flights each day to Dubai from the two Indian cities.
Air India’s new flight schedule will offer greater flexibility to its customers, with flight timings throughout the day, including morning, afternoon, and evening departures. The move is part of Air India’s ongoing efforts to optimize its flight schedules for Dubai, reducing frequencies on overlapping routes while densifying its presence on commercially viable routes.
Air India’s daily flights to Dubai from Delhi and Mumbai will use the twin-aisle Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. These planes feature 18 fully-flat beds in Business Class and 238 Economy Class seats, offering travellers a comfortable and luxurious experience. The remaining flights will be operated by Airbus A320/321 aircraft.
Air India’s decision to increase its operations to Dubai comes as the UAE continues to attract a growing number of visitors from India. The UAE is already a popular destination for Indian tourists, and the government has been working to enhance its appeal by offering a range of incentives and initiatives to attract more visitors from India.
With this move, Air India aims to provide more excellent connectivity and convenience to travellers flying between India and Dubai while also aligning its network with its subsidiary, Air India Express. The airline hopes that this will help it achieve greater efficiency and profitability while enhancing its customers’ overall travel experience.
The flights are now available through travel agents and other booking channels.
