AIRLINE MARKETING AUSTRALIASolomon Airlines, the national carrier of the Solomon Islands, has appointed Airline Marketing Australia (AMA) as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Australia, taking over the responsibility of all travel agencies and travel trade relationships in the country. AMA has been the airline’s representative in New Zealand for a long time and will now expand its partnership with Solomon Airlines in Australia and New Zealand. The airline’s CEO, Gus Kraus, said that the partnership with AMA would help Solomon Airlines handle the expected interest in the country during the upcoming Pacific Games in November 2023, which is expected to bring over 5,000 international visitors, including athletes, officials, and spectators from 24 countries across the Pacific region.

Solomon Airlines is one of the presenting sponsors of the SOL2023 event, providing SBD $5 million worth of air travel, air freight, and promotional content through its media channels. It will be the second time the Solomon Islands have hosted such a significant sporting event since the Mini Pacific Games in 1981.
