Like a scene from a movie, when Tim (37), met Dee (33) on Valentine’s Day 2022, it genuinely was love at first sight.
Tim, an Experience Director at a boutique marketing agency based in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, and Dee, who travels regularly as a Cabin Crew team member for Air Asia, hit it off immediately, and within months had moved in together.
Tim knew Dee was the one and made the decision he wanted to propose, but he wanted to make sure it was really special. He held off popping the very important question and waited patiently, until Dee’s very first trip to Australia in March 2023. Not only would this be an opportunity for Dee to meet many of Tim’s close friends but would allow Dee to catch her very first glimpse of some of Australia’s most iconic animals.
Tim had the bright idea to contact the team at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in Darling Harbour and arrange an unforgettable trip to the Zoo! Hours after they touched down in Sydney, Tim encouraged Dee to dress up ahead of dinner with friends (the perfect excuse to get dressed up for an animal encounter!).
Dee was brought to tears when she first laid eyes on the zoo’s resident koalas. Tim seizing the moment, romantically dropped to one
knee and adorably proposed, “Hello my love, would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?” Dee without any hesitation responded with a “yes!”
Following the couple’s magical moment, Zookeeper Andrea Rausa presented the pair with a beautiful bouquet of Australian native flowers, before they posed for a few photos, toasted flutes full of bubbles and shared a charcuterie board on the attractions Koala Rooftop joined with friends.
