For 18 years, since 2005, Franco’s, the legendary Italian restaurant on London’s Jermyn Street in the heart of St James’s marks the start of the British summer season with the launch of its annual rosé party, which this year will take place on Tuesday, April 25th from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Franco’s invites guests to sample each of the rosé wines on offer this year and accompanied by delicious canapés from Head chef Stefano Turconi throughout the evening. Tickets for this celebrated event are just £45 per person and can be booked via the link: https://www.sevenrooms.com/events/francos/ros-social-media-23

The annual event marks the launch of the restaurant’s impressive listing of rosé wines from around the world, one that it thought to be one of the largest in Europe.  The wines are each carefully selected by Franco’s Head sommelier Giulia Fenoglio who will be available on the night to answer any questions guests may have as well as representatives from each of the wine distributers.

Each year the party is themed and this year the inspiration comes from Picasso’s rose period which spanned the years 1902-1906 at a time when the famed artist wished to reflect the cheerful pink and orange colours. Picasso’s Rose period took on a life of its own with a new fluency of line that led him in the direction of abstract art and a unique combination of expression and subtlety. This, too, can be characteristic of the best rosé wines. Picasso’s change of style during his Rose Period perfectly mirrors the mellow mood that rosé wine induces. He was happy in his relationship and his paintings from then on frequently feature harlequins, clowns, and circus performers. It was during this period that his style developed into the masterly output for which he became world-famous.

Franco’s extensive rosé wine list has a rosé wine to suit every taste and palette, from a rose-hued sparkling Perrier Jouët Blason Rosé NV to the delicate pale pink of the ‘Whispering Angel’. With one of the largest collections of rosé wines in Europe, available by the bottle and by the glass.

Guests attending this exclusive event will be able to purchase their favourite bottle(s) of rosé wine at a 50% discount on the wine list price. (delivery charges apply) the perfect opportunity to stock up on your favourite rosé wine in time for the summer!

Established in 1945, Franco’s is one of London’s first Italian restaurants and has become renowned for its extensive and impressive wine cellar of fine and vintage still and sparkling wines from Italian and international producers.

Franco’s is the perfect place to meet family, friends, and colleagues to enjoy a glass of crisp rosé wine on one of the outside tables, against the backdrop of St James’s exceptional silhouette.  This year’s Rosé event promises to be an exceptional wine-tasting evening in an atmosphere of joyful artistic homage, marking an outstanding period for one of the world’s most famous artists.
