Silversea Cruises® has announced its return to Japanese waters after almost three years, marking the return of ultra-luxury cruising to the region. The Silver Muse arrived in Kagoshima on a 14-day voyage from Singapore to Osaka, with her first Japan-intensive sailing scheduled for March 15, 2023.
The return to Japan is a significant event for Silversea Cruises, as it represents the reopening of one of its most in-demand destinations. The cruise line will operate in Japanese waters from March to May, with a second season of sailings from September to October to take advantage of the autumnal colours.
Silversea’s Managing Director Asia Pacific, Adam Radwanski, expressed his delight at the cruise line’s return to Japan, stating: “We are delighted to be back in Japanese waters after three years. Spirits are high as we return to one of our most in-demand destinations.” He went on to describe the warm welcome that Silversea received from local government and port authorities in Japan, with folk music events and pier ceremonies in both Kagoshima and Osaka.
On the round trip from Osaka, guests on board the Silver Muse will experience the cherry blossom gardens of Kagoshima and explore regions of Japan that are less frequented by tourists. The itinerary includes a call in Kanazawa, where guests will have the opportunity to learn about local culture at a Geisha teahouse and participate in a Samurai experience. The voyage also includes a visit to Niigata, the sake capital of Japan, and the ancient archeological sites of Aomari at the Sannai-Maruyama ruins.
The Silver Muse accommodates 596 guests and represents an exciting evolution of the Silver Spirit. It redefines ultra-luxury ocean travel, enhancing the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations that are the hallmarks of the Silversea experience.
