Washington-DCIn November 2022, international visitor arrivals to the United States reached 4,601,142, a 61.3% increase compared to November 2021. Outbound travel departures from the United States by U.S. citizens were 6,661,750 in November 2022, a 41% increase compared to November 2021.

International Arrivals to the United States.

In November 2022, the United States saw an increase of 61.3% in international visitor arrivals compared to November 2021, with a total of 4,601,142 visitors. This represented 75.5% of the pre-COVID visitor volume reported for November 2019. The 20th consecutive month of YOY growth in international arrivals to the US. Canada, Mexico, the UK, Brazil and Germany were the top 5 source markets, accounting for 68.7% of total international arrivals. The only countries among the top 20 tourist-generating countries that reported a decrease in visitor volume were Colombia, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.

International Departures from the United States.

In November 2022, U.S. citizen international departures from the United States increased by 41% compared to November 2021, reaching 6,661,750. This was the 20th consecutive month of YOY increase. Mexico recorded the largest number of outbound visitors, followed by the Caribbean and Europe. YTD, 72,873,660 U.S. citizens travelled internationally, a YOY increase of 69.3%. North America (Mexico and Canada) accounted for 53% of these departures, while overseas accounted for 47%. U.S. outbound visitor volume to Europe was up 89.9% compared to November 2021 and accounted for 20% of all departures.
