Trevor will take viewers on a journey of discovery from Scandinavia and Northern Europe down to the Mediterranean, uncovering the rich history, landscapes and diverse cities and towns along this ancient trade route.

Viking Managing Director ANZ Michelle Black said they are thrilled to have Trevor showcase this voyage across several of Viking’s most popular cruising regions. “This is a truly unique and diverse itinerary, incorporating so many different experiences while providing guests an opportunity to see how commerce shaped European culture from Scandinavia to Iberia,” she said.

Explore TV Presenter, Trevor Cochrane said, “This is my fifth cruise with Viking, and the level of comfort, the exceptional customer service standards and passenger care, and the itineraries are stand-out features. I just love the fact that each itinerary delves deeper allowing you to truly learn and understand the destinations you’re visiting, making every journey one you can never forget.”

Beginning in Norway, Trevor takes in the inescapable beauty of Bergen with one of Viking’s expert local guides and joins the executive chef of the Viking Venus for an interactive culinary experience. Next, Trevor travels down to the Netherlands to the Delft pottery factory before learning how to make Pralines in Bruges, Belgium.

A visit to Monet’s house and garden in Giverney is a feast for the senses. While a stop in Britain’s historic maritime ports brings a tour of Britain’s only tea estate, Tregothan Estate giving a new understanding to the art of drinking tea. Trevor then heads to Portugal, where he learns about the quality and perfection that goes into producing one of Portugal’s finest wines.

As the Explore TV team continues along the Iberian Peninsula, Trevor uncovers the exquisite hillside village of Mijas in the Andalusian province of Spain. From here, he explores the ancient roman city of Cartagena by Segway and visits a Roman amphitheatre that lay undiscovered for over 2,000 years until its ruins were found in 1988.

Trevor spends his final days in the vibrant city of Barcelona, exploring Gaudi’s masterpieces and learning about local Catalonia culture. A special visit to Catalonia’s most cherished place of pilgrimage – Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey brings a moving concert from “Escolania de Montserrat” the monastery’s boarding school boys choir.

Throughout the four episodes, Trevor explores the many experiences and destinations on board the Viking Venus.

“From a personal point of view the highlight of this trip which isn’t an easy thing to decide because every port was remarkable, had to be the remarkable city of Barcelona in Catalonia which was the final of the cruise and what a finale, the food, culture, architecture and history, it has everything you could ask for with the colour of Spain,” said Trevor.

“If you have clients considering a cruise to any of these regions, these episodes provide a fantastic opportunity for them to learn about what life is like on board Viking’s ships and the types of experiences they can enjoy while cruising with Viking,” Black concluded.
