Over 2900 tennis fans have once again been able to cruise from Sydney to Melbourne to enjoy the 2023 Australian Open for the first time in three years.

P&O’s Pacific Adventure set sail for a 5-night itinerary, with guests enjoying two days of live tennis action at Melbourne Park. It was on Sunday morning however when P&O truly served up an ace, with guests offered an incredible “meet and greet” experience onboard the ship. They were treated to a photo opportunity with two VIP visitors to the ship – the 2023 Australian Open winner’s trophies.

Entertainment Director, Pacific Adventure said that the Australian Open cruise was one of the highlights in her calendar.

“I’m so thrilled we were able to take our guests back after a three-year absence. The weather was fabulous and the tennis was even better. And it was incredible being able to bring the trophies on board for our guests. We now just have to wait and see which player will have their name etched on them for 2023,” said Kristy.

In addition to catching two days at Melbourne Park, matches were also shown on the ship’s big screen and in Black Circus theatre, and Steve Hart from Fox Sports hosted sports trivia as well as the Up Close and Personal shows with sports commentators John Marks, Nicole and Mark Bradtke and Jim Wilson.

P&O’s exclusive Australian Open Cruise for 2024 is already on sale, with the 5-night itinerary departing Sydney on 19 January; starting from $999 per person twin share. For more information, visit www.pocruises.com.au
