Coral Geographer Sea Trials Coral Expeditions has announced the release of 11 expedition voyages on board Coral Geographer between May and August in the Kimberley region for 2024. These voyages will be in addition to the already published schedule for Coral Adventurer and Coral Discoverer, reinforcing Coral Expeditions’ long-standing position as the pre-eminent Kimberley operator with a total of 45 departure dates in 2024 across the 3-vessel fleet.

The new sailings, beginning the 8th of May, will be the renowned 10-night “Original Kimberley Cruise” operating between Darwin and Broome.   They will include all the highlights of the Kimberley, including the tidal phenomena of Montgomery reef and the Horizontal Falls, the towering escarpments and majestic waterfalls of King George and the Mitchell Rivers, the pristine wildlife sanctuaries of the Lacapedes and the ancient rock art and cultural sites dating back over 40,000 years.

Guests will benefit from the incomparable experience of Coral Expeditions in the region where the company has operated for 29 consecutive years.  They can look forward to the following:

  • Expert guidance from the local crew who have charted the coastline and tides for three decades, ensuring guests get ashore in the right place at the right time.
  • Vessels that are purpose-built for the Kimberley with a shallow draft, high manoeuvrability, and plenty of open deck space to enjoy the tropical climate
  • Best-in-class shore excursion capabilities with multiple zodiacs and two trademarks, ‘Xplorer’ safari tender vessels to get guests close to waterfalls, up rivers and onto the deserted beaches of the Kimberley coast.
  • A proud Australian crew who loves nothing more than to share our unique country with guests.

Coral Expeditions Commercial Director Jeff Gillies says: “the additional deployment reflects the importance of the Kimberley for us and the Australian-flagged expedition cruising sector.

“New entrants may come and go.  But the Kimberley is our home and we have forged our reputation on delivering immersive expeditions with a uniquely Australian style over the past three decades”.
