With the summer season now drawn to a close across the Northern Hemisphere, Aman’s winter retreats prepare to open their doors once again. Heralding the arrival of the year’s final months, the ski resorts of Courchevel 1850 and Dolomites Superski in Europe, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in North America beckon, promising unforgettable moments in the snow. AMAN LE MÉLÉZIN, FRANCE
Located directly on the Bellecôte piste and offering unimpeded access to over 600 kilometres of pristine ski slopes, Aman Le Mélézin is an iconic Alpine retreat in Courchevel 1850. Designed to refresh and reenergise amid snow-dusted pine forests and crisp blue skies, the hotel, inspired by the timeless serenity of the surrounding mountains, is poised to welcome guests from 9 December 2022 until 10 April 2023.

 Those wishing to focus on their health are well-catered for this winter, with several new in-suite extras designed to help guests maintain their wellness routine. Options include a healthy mini bar, which replaces indulgences with fresh juices and nutritious snacks; a meditation corner set-up with a yoga mat or a Technogym bench set-up with weights; singing bowls, incense, and amenities such as Tiger Balm and bath oil; and an adapted music playlist to ensure guests’ healthy lifestyles remain on track while travelling.

Further, two new health and fitness methods, Wellness in the Snow and Extreme Snow Sports and Recovery, can now be incorporated into stays of five nights or more. These robust add-ons include an extensive list of outdoor adventures, dining experiences, spa treatments and fitness sessions, designed to cover every aspect of wellness in the hotel’s magical setting. While Wellness in the Snow includes activities such as a healthy picnic on the slopes, snowmobiling, a heli-sky tour or paragliding session, a three-hour Aman Signature Spa Journey and more, the Extreme Snow Sports and Recovery method takes alpine fitness to the next level, with activities such as freestyle skiing or snowboarding, two heli-ski or snowboarding sessions with a pro, daily power breakfast and a deep tissue massage, Iyashi Dôme therapy, ice-cold bath session and snow and sunburn facial, to name just a few.

First opened in 1992, the hotel will celebrate its 30th anniversary this December. The milestone will be marked with a host of unique dining experiences, from a celebratory cocktail week in the resort’s bar to

a new experience at Les Prés de la Croix, an exclusive private chalet where guests are invited to enjoy an unforgettable evening of surprise and delight, with an authentic Savoyard dinner served fireside (or choice of private chef on Fridays) and tobogganing under the stars.

ROSA ALPINA, ITALY
Beneath the majestic peaks of Lavarella and Conturines rests the charming mountain village of San Cassiano. At its heart, Rosa Alpina, an Aman Partner hotel, provides unparalleled access to the Unesco World Heritage ski destination of the Dolomites Superski and Sella Ronda network of pistes. Reopening on 10 December, the intimate property with its renowned three-Michelin-starred restaurant and expansive spa features just 52 rooms and suites, as well as an exclusive three-bedroom Penthouse, and spacious private refuge, Chalet Zeno.

Celebrating the hotel’s opening week (10-17 December), The Call of The Dolomites invites those staying three-nights or more to enjoy daily breakfast, €200 resort credit, a two-day ski pass and two-day ski rental. Also, for the coming season, snowsports enthusiasts can glide through peaceful, snow-covered valleys with the Cross-Country Adventures exclusive which includes a three-night stay and daily breakfast alongside a morning yoga stretching session, individual cross-country ski lessons, two-day entry to the training circuit and two-day ski, ski shoes and pole rental.

Alternatively, those seeking a more laid-back mountain retreat will enjoy the hotel’s comprehensive wellness area and Aman Spa – a serene haven, featuring two indoor heated swimming pools with forest views, a Jacuzzi, hammam, cold plunge pool, a light-filled yoga studio, a state-of-the-art gym and nine treatment rooms. The five or seven-night Skiing for Peace of Mind offer balances time in this tranquil space with time on the slopes and includes a 60-minute Alpine Muscle Experience, a six-day Dolomiti Superski ski pass and daily ski rental, daily breakfast, and €300 or €400 resort credit (dependent on length of stay) to use in Rosa Alpina’s restaurants or spa.

The resort is also well-suited to guests travelling with children, with the Family Escape offering a host of multi-generational activities. AMANGANI, USA

Affording magnificent views of the Grand Tetons and Snake River Valley, Amangani, meaning ‘peaceful home’, is perched on the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte overlooking the valley of Jackson Hole. Evoking the atmosphere of the West’s pioneering days with redwood panelling and blazing log fires, the retreat rests amidst towering snow-capped peaks, verdant meadows and wild rivers. Opening 22 November after a short seasonal closure, the resort transforms into a winter wonderland, welcoming winter sports enthusiasts and non-skiers alike.

With around 2,500 hectares of skiing terrain, the ski-resort of Jackson Hole Mountain caters to all levels of ability with its wide, groomed slopes, as well as challenging the more advanced skiers with chutes, couloirs, glades and off-piste areas. Alternatively, for guests wishing to explore the region’s snow-covered landscapes via alternative transport, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and dogsledding are also available, offering a window into Wyoming’s winter ecology and wildlife.
