The Board of Edgewater-Lake Wānaka are pleased to announce the appointment of its new General Manager. Colin McClean has been appointed to the role and is due to commence in December.
Currently, Colin is GM Hotel Operations at SkyCity Entertainment Group based in Auckland. He has been with the company for over seven years and has held Hotel Manager and Director of Sales roles within the Group. Previously Colin was with Accor in management roles throughout New Zealand.
There was great interest in the role and the Board were humbled with the calibre of candidates.
The chair, Andy Macfarlane noted that Edgewater and Wanaka were fortunate to have a GM of Colin’s experience and attributes moving with his family to the region. The owners of Edgewater also look forward to Colin’s contribution to Edgewater’s upcoming refurbishment project.
Colin’s qualifications include a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Lincoln University and a Master’s degree in International Hospitality Management.
Current General Manager, Catherine Bone is returning to the UK and will finish her role at the end of October. In the interim, financial controller Tania Delahunty will be acting General Manager, providing continuity until Colin commences his role in December.
