SAVE: The first Fusion Original branded property, Fusion Original Saigon Centre, opened this July. Located in Saigon Centre, atop the fashionable Takashimaya Shopping Mall, the 99-room property occupies 10 floors in one of the most iconic buildings of the city. Its prime position delivers expansive views over the heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1. Inspired by and connected to the local art scene, it has a whimsical, youthful vibe with bold colors and statement pieces throughout.

Iconic polyart walls feature prominently in public spaces, as do towering floor-to-ceiling paintings of Vietnamese women in traditional ao dai. In the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Miss Thu, the ceiling design evokes the traditional non quai thao (a style of Vietnamese hat), while the restaurant’s textured windows flutter like mandarin hand fans. The property’s outdoor swimming pool is perched on the sixth floor and embraced by a tropical vertical garden. A stay at Saigon’s hippest new property is a steal with room rates starting as low as USD160++ per night.

SPLURGE: At US$15,000 per night, The Reverie Suite is a world unto itself, and those blessed with the deep pockets to splash out on this dazzling 2-bedroom boudoir are in for a treat. Stately and sumptuous in classical Italian design, the 313 sqm suite occupies the top two floors of the 39-storey Times Square Building, offering floor-to-ceiling panoramic views across the entire city. The grand, winding staircase leads to a private, wood-paneled study, a magnificent master suite, an elegant parlor and a marble-clad bath. One should expect nothing less from The Reverie Saigon, an elite member of The Leading Hotels of the World group. Forty floors below, The Reverie hosts an exquisite new restaurant, Da Vittorio Saigon, part of the Italian fine-dining group with eight Michelin stars to its name globally. Other hotel highlights include The Reverie Yacht, a 60-foot Monte Carlo 6 decked out in teakwood and exquisite leatherwork. A crew of three and a private butler with Champagne picnic in tow lead excursions for their fortunate guests along the Saigon River.
